A Greensboro company working with business documents since 1984

DTI is a Greensboro, North Carolina company that has worked with business documents since 1984. Today we help organizations manage their information and automate the work around it. For most clients, that means scanning paper records into searchable files, running a document management system, or automating accounts payable from invoice to payment.

What we do

Many clients use more than one of these. Across all three, we use automation and AI to take repetitive work off your team, and your people keep the decisions.

Document scanning

Paper records, file rooms and oversized drawings scanned and indexed so your team can search them, from a single box to several thousand.

Document scanning

Document management

One searchable home for your documents, with control over who sees what and how long records are kept.

Document management

AP automation

Invoices captured, approved and posted to your ERP, with vendors paid by ACH, virtual card or check.

Where we came from, and where we're going

DTI started in Greensboro in 1984, working with business documents. As the work moved from paper to screens, we moved with it: from scanning and imaging into document management systems, and from there into automating the accounts payable work that runs on those documents.

What we're excited about right now

  • AI that reads documents. AI capture tools are replacing older OCR for reading invoices and records, so fewer fields get keyed by hand.
  • Putting old archives to work. Decades of paper records are turning into files that people and AI tools can search and use, instead of boxes in a back room.
  • Paying vendors without the paperwork. Payment automation takes check printing and payment questions off AP teams, without changing banks.
  • Document management in the cloud. Teams can outgrow shared drives without running their own servers.

Where we're going

We're bringing practical AI into the everyday work around documents: reading, sorting, checking and filing, with your people making the decisions. We're also growing our network of partners, so more organizations can reach us through the firms they already trust. Through all of it, you'll keep working with people who know your business and are here for the long haul.

How we work

We start with how the work happens today

Before we recommend anything, we want to understand where documents come from, who makes which decisions, and where people work around the system.

We're independent of the ERP vendors

We connect AP, payment and document work to the ERP and document platforms our customers use. Our job is to make the work around those systems run better.

We explain the tradeoffs

When more than one platform, payment method or approach would work, we lay out the tradeoffs so you can choose, instead of steering you to whatever is easiest for us.

You work with the people doing the work

You talk directly with the people who understand your project, without the layers of a large professional services firm.

Who we work with

Our document scanning and records work serves businesses, government agencies, healthcare organizations, medical offices, HR departments, research labs, municipalities and school systems across North Carolina, Southern Virginia and northern South Carolina, and we can bring in records from farther away.

Our AP work centers on mid-market companies with complex AP, especially construction and specialty contractors running Penta software. We also work with manufacturers, service firms and other companies on specialized ERP systems.

Technology partners

DTI is a partner of Hyland, Tungsten Automation and OpenText. We implement EasyFile and support OpenText AppEnhancer and Upland FileBound. For construction companies on Penta software, we're a Penta preferred partner, and our AP automation sends documents into Penta Vault.

We also work with records storage providers, IT firms, ERP consultants and accounting firms whose clients need work they don't do themselves.
